Open Sea

My body lives here
in Tennessee
but my soul
is the captain of my heart
and it lives out on open sea
it soars with the gulls
roams with the clouds
and floats on the breeze
upon distant shores
across continents
far and free
with the fish
it swims deep in the seas
and with the sailors
it likes to enjoy a drink
and occasionally
my soul sails home
back to Tennessee
then back out to my love
the open sea
where my essence
can just simply be.....
