I will never be
a member
of polite so-ci-ety
But luck-ily for me
I am a member of
poetic society.
we wield pens
and do battle
with ourselves
in black text fonts
on technologies paper
We reveal in phrasing
what you can't say in life
what we think, what we feel
desire, capers, strife
it is all there for the picking
in black ink, heart pricking
love, loss,
and another day's whipping
we bare our souls
light and dark
fearlessly bleeding
for the sake of
polite society's
judgmental reading's
of our whims
pain, euphoria,
life filled to the brim
pouring out of them
and out of me
as members of
poetic so-ci-ety
